Bioengineer

Born and raised in the California Bay Area, I have always had a fascination with nature that led me to engineering biology. I received my Bachelor’s in Bioengineering from Stanford University in 2022 under the advisement of Professor Drew Endy. I am now a fourth-year MIT PhD candidate co-advised between the Voigt lab in Biological Engineering and the Community Biotechnology Initiative with Dr. David Kong in the Media Lab. In addition to my degree studies, I’ve spent time as an intern and visiting researcher at NASA’s Ames Research Center and Harvard QBio.

I am also a Design Fellow and Student Advisor at the Morningside Academy for Design, as well as a Graduate Research Fellow with the National Science Foundation, blending science and art to share the future vision of Synthetic Biology.

I have served as President of Stanford BIOME, participated in and advised Stanford iGEM, and have worked on a variety of projects across my labs at Stanford, Harvard, NASA, BioCurious, and MIT. I’ve also exhibited bio-artworks at the MIT Museum, LIST center, and Media Lab. My pursuit of Synthetic Biology has taken me down avenues of using genetic engineering to create organisms capable of detecting disease, growing materials, and exploring artistic expression.

Educator

I have a breadth of teaching experiences, having designed and taught courses at Stanford, Harvard, and MIT for students ranging from middle school to graduate levels.

Musician

Musician

I’ve been performing for over two decades! I have sung with groups such as the Stanford Chamber Chorale, San Fransisco Girl’s Chorus, Acalanes Chamber Choir, and many more. I have served as President of two a cappella groups: Acalanes Harmonix and the award-winning Stanford Harmonics. I’ve performed around the world and continue to make music both individually and with my band, Barely Educated.
